The 378 pupil school was expanded to 420 places, with the junior school re-housed in a new building and the infant school modernised. HKR's competition winning scheme places new classrooms in glazed "pods" around the external boundary of the site, leaving the listed school buildings refurbished and intact.

Simon Innes lead architect on the project for HKR commented "The new design is an inspiring 21st century school that respects the design philosophy of the original listed buildings with their pioneering open plan teaching arrangement."
Facade Engineering designed, manufactured and installed the glazed external "Pods" to the 3 blocks using SAPA Elegance 52 SX Curtain Wall with clear and coloured toughened laminated glazed panels and integral SG Doors to give a completey flush, uninterupted facade.
